Istanbul is the center of most activities in Turkey. The Topkapi Palace, residence of the sultans from the 15th century to the early 1800s, the palace's harem housing up to 500 people, including up to 300 concubines and the imperial treasury are a must see.
Aya Sofya, the Church of the Divine Wisdom, has an immense impressive.
The Blue Mosque is another very elegant and impressive monument you must not miss.
The Grand Bazaar is a maze of narrow streets where you can buy anything that catches your fancy.
Troy
The legendary city of Troy was discovered in 1871. It is the site of an epic battle between the Greeks and the Trojans in the 13th century BC.
Troy has little sight seeing value for an ordinary tourist, but for those with an interest in archaeology, it can be a single most exciting tour!
Valley of the Fairy Chimneys
The strange volcanic cones near Aktepe and Kale are the best formed and most thickly clustered of all in Turkey. They make for fascinating exploring.
Harran
Harran is one of the oldest continuously inhabited spots on earth.
There's a fortress on the eastern side of the town, and some good mosaics in the 8th century Ulu Cami (a mosque).
Some of its current residents still live in quaint beehive-shaped mud houses and their livelihood through a mix of farming and smuggling.
Water sports such as Yachting, water-skiing, snorkeling and diving are a favorite tourist past time in Turkey because of the beautiful coasts and beaches.
However, scuba diving is. There are also plenty of climbing opportunities in Turkey due to its numerous mountain ranges.
