Perak
is the Land of Grace which covers an area of 21,000
squares kilometers and has a population of about two
million. The state is divided into nine districts and
its major towns include Ipoh, Kuala Kangsar, Taiping,
Teluk Intan and Lumut.
There are many modern shopping centers and supermarkets
in Perak especially in Ipoh and the major towns. Other
places where one can pick up good bargains are at the
pasar malam or night markets.

that stock everything from local handicrafts to folk

The major tourist attractions in Perak include the
Perak Museum , Taiping which was built in 1883 and is

artifacts from Perak's rich historical culture and heritage.
Taiping Lake Gardens is a 62 hectares park and one of
the biggest and most beautiful parks in the country.
It offers lush greenery, a beautiful lake abounding
with freshwater fish, a gazebo and a colorful profusion
of flowers.
The Taiping Zoo probably the oldest zoo
in the country, is another attraction located within
the Gardens. Bukit Larut is a place where Malaysia's
oldest hill resort is located.
It is situated in an
altitude of 1034 meters and is accessible only by four-wheel
drive vehicles. The Ubudiah Mosque is located at Bukit
Chandan; Kuala Kangsarand is renowned to be one of the
most beautiful mosques in the country and a sign of
pride and trust for all Muslims in Perak.
It was built more than
100 years ago. The Pangkor Island is most popular island
resort in Perak. Located about 90km south-west of Ipoh,
it is largely inhabited by fisher folk.
The mosque's
splendid golden dome and minarets are testaments to
the attractiveness of Islamic architecture. The Royal
Museum houses the Royal Regalia, photographs of the
Royal Family, illustrations and artifacts of the past
and present monarchy in Perak. Kellie's Castle belonged
to William Kellie Smith, an English rubber tycoon during
the late 19th century. It is believed that Kellie's
Castle has hidden rooms and a secret tunnel.
The Darul
Ridzuan Museum was opened in 1992 and includes a history
of Ipoh's growth and progress, the mining industry and
forestry in the state of Perak. The museum building
has its own outstanding history.
Istana Kenangan was the temporary residence of the sultan when Iskandariah was under construction. Architecturally Kenangan is more charming than Iskandariah. The construction of Ubudiah Mosque began in the late 19th century but was completed only after the First World War. The marvelous mosque is crowned with a group of golden domes.
Taiping
Visit Taiping, the capital of Perak on Tours to Perak. Taiping became the capital of Perak in the late 19th century AD when the city had a flourishing tin industry. In the 1890's, the abandoned mining pools were transformed into ravishing Lake Gardens. You must also visit the oldest State Museum of Malaysia on Tours to Perak.
