Luang Prabang Waterfalls

The Asia Explorers Luang Prabang Travel Guide is created to provide you a comprehensive listing of all the heritage sites located in the Unesco World Heritage Town of Luang Prabang, Laos.

Luang Prabang, also written Louangphrabang, is the former capital of Laos, or rather, of the Kingdom of Luang Prabang. The above photograph shows just one of the many, many temples I explored when I organised the trip to Luang Prabang for AsiaExplorers.

Luang Prabang is located on the banks of the Mekong River, 425 km north of Vientiane. Until the communist takeover in 1975, Luang Prabang was the royal capital of the Kingdom of Laos.

It is a city with a long history, and several different names. Today, in recognition of its impressive

history and level of restoration, Unesco accorded Luang Prabang World Heritage Site status in December of 1995.

Laos, the socialist republic communist state of Southeast Asia, is surrounded by many other beautiful countries such as Myanmar, China, Vietnam, Cambodia and Thailand.

Being associated with the Kingdom of Lan Xang or a Land of a Million Elephants, Laos stands high for its culture and heritage. This wonderful country offers exotic locations and beautiful moments to its visitors.

Thus to relish all these and its unparalleled services and tour facilities, you must visit this country once. However, this attractively beautiful country is divided into various provinces and districts.

Each of these provinces reflects a very strong bond with nature and natural abundance. While you

are in this country, some of the provinces here are a must-to-see place for you.

These provinces are; Attapu, Bokeo, Khammouane, Luang Namtha, Vientiane, Luang Prabang and others. All these provinces are rich in wilderness and temples.

But if you happen to be in Luang Prabang province, then your experience is going to be really different. Luang Prabang waterfalls are that one factor which contributes to having novel experiences here.

Luang Prabang, the first capital of Laos boasts of to beautiful waterfalls such as Tad Kwang Si Waterfall and Tad Thong waterfall. You can walk through the ethnic villages, agricultural fields and forests and finally take up swimming and relax at these locations.
