in the province of Chaco, the Chaco National
Park is national park of Argentina. Covering
an area of 150 km² this park was built in 1954
to preserve a specimen of the Eastern Chaco which comprised
warm lowlands with a yearly rainfall record of 750 to

as the turn off northwards or route 9 to Colonia Elisa,

of flora and fauna where the visitors can really have
lots of fun. Inside the park one can get to see the
various types of habitat such as Chaco woods, palm-dotted
savannahs and marshes and lagoons. The woods reach upto

scrubland, sanvana, swamps and little lakes. For the
the red quebracho, the white quebracho, the algarrobo,
and the lapacho the scrubland is the living ground while
the animal world mainly consists of huge predators like
the pumas. The yacares and capibaras can be found in
the lakes. Armadillos, tapirs, viscachas, caraya monkeys
and birds are also found. The white woodpecker and the
savannah hawk are a real beauty of this park. But you
won't stop wondering at the water birds like the Panza
de cabra, Yacare and Carpincho if you take a visit to
the lakes. In the summer the wet places are occupied
by different frog and toads which in mad chorus send
an invitation to their female patners.The park is guarded
area for the quebracho trees. The wood of this tree
being strong has been exploited over the century.
