| Argentinas Lake District North-west
Pantagonia is called the Lake Districts. Argentina's
Lake District is a paradise on earth for the
tourists. The fairytale flawlessness of the snowcapped
mountains, the lush green forest, the lakes and the
glittering rivers full of trout make it captivating.
The region stretches from north of Junín de los
Andes to the south of Esquel, encompassing small villages,
ranches, many wonderful national parks and the flourishing
city of Bariloche. The natural beauty of the Lake District
attracts tourists from far and wide. Not only the scenic
beauty but the spectacular architecture that has a unique
blend of Swiss and German immigration holds attraction
to the tourists. Though it is thought of part of Patagonia
it has little similarity to that place.
The park is located to the southeast of the Province of Neuquén and to the northeast of the Province of Río Negro. It covers some 710,000 hectares (1,754,000 acres) of land, protecting a large section of the Andean region to the north of the Argentinean Patagonia. Here you can identify the individual aspects of the Patagonia that comprise its atmosphere, such as the zone of the High Andes; the habitat of the condor, located at 1,600 meters (5,250 ft) high; the humid forest, a region where there is abundant rain and warm temperatures; transitional forests, where you will find cypresses in the mountain range; and the steppes, a large area with an undulating landscape, strong winds and scarce amounts of rain during the summer
The Lake District has something for everyone all the
year round. Be it sightseeing to sunbathing, hiking
to biking or summer boating to winter skiing, golf,
trekking, boating, rafting, wind surfing, bird watching
and off course fishing this place is a real joy to visit.
There are a number of places for sightseeing here. The
Nahuel Huapi National Park, the second
largest park in Argentina is a must go for the tourists.
The area charecterises mirror puzzle of lakes, forest,
mountains and rivers flowing along sharp river valleys.
You can also have a look at the Cerro Tronador, the
inactive volcano. You can wonder and stroll beside some
of the world's best lakes like the Gutierrez, Mascardi,
etc. The River Manso is worth visiting. But you get
spellbound when you look at the Cerro Lopez Mountains.
You can have a glance of these beautiful mountains from
the streets of Bariloche. Also visit the Esquel and
experience the exulting air and alluring surroundings.
The place is also renowned for its food -- venison,
wild boar, trout, smoked cheeses, wild mushrooms, sweet
marmalades, chocolates, and more. As tourism is the
principle source of revenue here, the prices raise as
the pouring masses visit this region from mid-December
to early March and during the month of July. To escape
the crowd November or April is recommended, when the
weather is still dulcet.
